The short version
skillgoblin.com collects no personal data. Zero. The goblin doesn't want your email, your IP, your browsing habits, or anything else. It just wants you to self-host things.
What we collect
No personal data. This website is a static HTML/CSS/JS page served over HTTPS. We run no tracking pixels, no session recording, and no advertising networks — only the cookie-free, aggregate analytics described below.
We do not use cookies, local storage for tracking, or fingerprinting of any kind.
Third-party services on this page
All fonts and the PixiJS library are served locally from our own server — no Google Fonts, no jsDelivr CDN.
We use Logbiter (logbiter.com) for privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics. This collects aggregate page view counts and referrer data — no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking. The GitHub API is also called on page load to fetch the live star count; this is optional and fails gracefully if unavailable.
Links to GitHub, Docker Hub, and Ko-fi are external sites governed by their own privacy policies.
The self-hosted app
The SkillGoblin application (the Docker container you run yourself) stores user accounts, progress data, and session tokens on your own server in a local SQLite database. That data never leaves your server. We have no access to it.
The app makes zero outbound network calls after startup. Your courses, your progress, your users — all 100% under your control.
